The District Winter Art Show runs from Dec. 3 through Jan. 8 at the Woodstock Public Library, 414 W. Judd Street. Hundreds of pieces of original work created by students in grades 1-12 are part of the exhibit which has become a popular draw for library visitors.
From the total collection, the District 200 art teachers will select one piece from each school to receive an award. Each piece will be purchased from the artist for a nominal fee and permanently displayed in the artist’s school. One piece is chosen annually by the Superintendent and will be displayed in the District 200 Administrative Services Center. The award winners will be invited to a future Board of Education meeting to be recognized for their achievement.
The show is open during the library’s normal business hours. Information about the Woodstock Public Library is available at www.woodstockpubliclibrary.org.
