1-1 Technology comes to WNHS: This year our 9th and 10th grade students will all have their own device to use in their classes. These are important dates that parents should know as we assign these devices to our students.
Thursday, August 15: Students will bring home the user contract that must be signed by parents. Please ask them to give it to you. It must be returned and signed in order for students to get their device.
Monday, August 19: 9th grade students get their device during their English class (if they have a signed contract.)
Tuesday, August 20: 10th grade students get their device during their English class (if they have a signed contract.)
These devices are critical tools that the students will use to demonstrate their learning in ways that were not even possible a few years ago. With the device comes responsibility for its safekeeping. We also know that accidents happen and because of that, we are offering an optional Chromebook/Computer Replacement Program. We have noted through our registration process, that few parents have opted into this program.
The program costs $30 per student. This is an optional, annual program that is open to all students. In the event your child’s Chromebook needs to be replaced because of accidental damage, you will have the option of joining the program for a second time at a cost of an additional $30. If you are not a part of the program and your child’s computer is damaged, you will be required to pay the total cost for repairs or replacement (up to $325 per event). If you would like to add this coverage for your student now, you or your student should bring the $30 into the Main Office. Checks should be made payable to WCUSD 200.
