Prairiewood Elementary School 3rd grade dual language teacher Sonia Arnold’s classroom won a $500 prize and 500 bonus points in the James Patterson and Scholastic Book Clubs giveaway.

“We are so excited! We were able to add many new and fun titles to our classroom library,” Arnold said. “Students are now able to borrow more books to take hom to read for enjoyment.”

The 2018 winners included 4,000 teachers who were selected from more than 127,000 entries from across the United States.

The partnership between best-selling author James Patterson and Scholastic Book Clubs was formed on agreement over the crucial importance of getting books into the hands of as many children in as many places as possible.

Contest representatives said that for many children, access to quality books begins with and too often is limited to what their teachers can offer them in the classroom. This is why, for the fourth consecutive year, James Patterson and Scholastic Book Clubs teamed up to bring books into classroom libraries throughout the country.
