Illinois Assessment of Readiness

The Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) is the state assessment and accountability measure for Illinois students enrolled in a public school district. IAR assesses the New Illinois Learning Standards Incorporating the Common Core and will be administered in English Language Arts and Mathematics. This test replaces the PARCC that was given in past years, but includes the same skills and format.

IAR assessments in English Language Arts and Mathematics will be administered to all students in grades 3-8. There are 2 ELA sessions and 3 Math sessions.

All D200 elementary schools will begin testing on Thursday, April 4. We will give 1 session per day. All testing will be completed by April 15. We will schedule testing on April 4, 5, 8, 11, and 12. This will allow days for make ups and an additional day for the 5th grade state science assessment.

Most important is that your child is physically and mentally prepared to show his/her best effort on these assessments. Please insist on a good night's sleep and offer a healthy breakfast. We will provide a positive environment, understanding that students may need movement breaks and encouragement.
