Dear Class of 2019 Seniors and Their Families:

Graduation is right around the corner. I congratulate you on your academic commitment and share in your excitement as you prepare to exit WHS for what lies ahead. Before you leave our halls, however, I would like to share with you some important year-end dates and graduation details.

Prom will be held at Boulder Ridge Country Club in Lake in the Hills, on Saturday, April 27, 2019. All juniors and seniors in good standing may attend. Students may purchase prom tickets, $70.00 per ticket, in the main office from Mrs. Buhrow beginning Monday, April 8, 2019, and ending on Friday, April 12, 2019. If you plan to bring a guest not enrolled at WHS, make sure to fill out a Dance Request Form in the attendance office prior to purchasing your tickets. Buses will depart WHS at approximately 5:00 p.m. and will return at approximately 11:00 p.m. - all students must ride the bus.

Graduation cap and gown pick-up is scheduled for Wednesday, May 1, 2019, during all lunch periods. Representatives from Herff Jones will be in the commons with pre-ordered caps and gowns, announcements, invitations, etc. Seniors who have not pre-ordered a cap and gown must bring payment of $50.00 in cash or money order to the Herff Jones representative; personal checks will not be accepted. Herff representatives will have extra caps and gowns on hand.

The annual Senior Awards Assembly will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at 9:00 a.m. in the Jim Shipley Gymnasium. All students attend this assembly to honor our graduating senior class on their achievements.  Traditionally, the entire student body wears dress attire for this event.

This year’s Graduation Ceremony takes place on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. in the Jim Shipley Gymnasium. Graduating seniors must report to the auxiliary gym at 1:15 p.m. on May 19 in proper dress attire with cap and gown - no gym shoes, no shorts, no flip-flops, no jeans, no purses, no backpacks, no cameras, no flowers on the robe, no writing on caps, etc. Girls may wear dress sandals; guys should wear dress slacks with dress shoes. All seniors are required to attend graduation rehearsal on Friday, May 17, 2019, at 9:45 a.m. in the auxiliary gym in order to participate in the graduation ceremony on Sunday.

Other important details handled at graduation rehearsal:

    • All obligations of fees, books, etc. must be paid/settled in order to participate in the graduation ceremony.
    • Personal checks for outstanding fees will not be accepted after April 26, 2019.
    • Payments may be made with cash or cashier’s check in the Main office or with credit card online.
    • All lunch accounts must be paid in full. Accounts will not be allowed to go negative starting April 1, 2019.
    • Each senior will receive six tickets; contact Mr. Boland for additional tickets.

All outstanding obligations must be paid/settled prior to graduation rehearsal on Friday, May 17, 2019, in order to participate in the graduation ceremony. Students with outstanding fees will be given a final bill in class in late April. Balances must be paid to Mrs. Buhrow in the main office by Friday, May 17, 2019.
