Project Lead the Way (PLTW) is the leading provider of rigorous and innovative Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education curricular programs used in middle and high schools across the United States. STEM education is at the heart of today's high-tech, high-skill global economy. PLTW's comprehensive curriculum for engineering engages students in activities-, project-, and problem-based learning, which provides hands-on classroom experiences.
The Woodstock Community Unit School District 200 offers the following PLTW Courses: Introduction to Engineering Design, Principles of Engineering, Digital Electronics, Civil Engineering and Architecture, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, and Engineering Design and Development. For descriptions of each course and their pre-requisites, please refer to the D200 Curriculum Guide or talk to you school counselor.
Both Woodstock High School and Woodstock North High School are Project Lead The Way Certified Schools, which means that students who successfully complete any of the PLTW courses may be eligible for scholarships, college credit, or priority admittance into PLTW affiliated colleges and universities.
