Honor Societies

  • French Honor Society

    Mrs. Isabelli
    Members of the Woodstock High School Chapter of La Société Honoraire de Francais, French Honor Society, must meet specific criteria established by the French Honor Society. The scholastic requirements for induction at Woodstock High School require earning an A- or above in either three consecutive semesters of 4 out of 5 semesters in French classes as well as a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0. Students must maintain both a grade of A- or above in French classes and an overall grade of B in their other classes for continued membership.
    German Honor Society

    Mr. Walsdorf
    Members of the Woodstock High School Chapter of Delta Epsilon Phi, German Honor Society, must meet specific criteria established by the German Honor Society. The scholastic requirements for induction at Woodstock High School require earning an A- or above in either three consecutive semesters of 4 out of 5 semesters in German classes as well as a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0. Students must maintain both a grade of A- or above in German classes and an overall grade of B in their other classes for continued membership. 
    International Thespian Honor Society

    Mr. Seger
    The International Thespian Society has been honoring excellence in the work of theatre students since
    1929. There are at present active ITS troupes in more than 3,900 high schools and middle schools, mostly in the United States and Canada. Each troupe is led by a troupe director who is a professional member of the Educational Theatre Association. Students earn an invitation to Thespian Society membership on the basis of their achievements in the school’s theatre program and remain active based on continued service to the troupe. Students are eligible to be inducted after earning 10 points, 100 hours of work, and earn additional awards at every hundred up to 600, when they become Honor Thespians. 1000 hours of work may earn them Century Thespian status.
    National Honor Society

    Mrs. Bastian & Mr. Stiles
    Members of the Woodstock High School Chapter of National Honor Society are selected by a faculty committee. Specific criteria have been established by the National Honor Society. the scholastic requirements at Woodstock High School include earning a 3.75 or better cumulative GPA as well as demonstrating qualities of leadership, character, and service.

    Spanish Honor Society

    Members of the Woodstock High School Chapter of La Sociedad Honoraria, Spanish Honor Society, must meet specific criteria established by the Spanish Honor Society. The scholastic requirements for induction at Woodstock High School require earning an A- or above in either three consecutive semesters of 4 out of 5 semesters in Spanish classes as well as a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0. Students must maintain both a grade of A- or above in Spanish classes and an overall grade of B in their other classes for continued membership. 

    Tri-M Music Honor Society

    Mr. Jozwiak

    Members of the Woodstock High School Chapter of Tri-M Music Honor Society must meet specific criteria established by the Tri-M Music Honor Society. The scholastic requirements for induction at Woodstock High School require current enrollment in a school-sponsored music ensemble, enrollment in a school-sponsored music ensemble for at least three semesters, earning an A- or above in all music classes each semester, and maintaining an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0. In addition to these scholastic requirements, students must demonstrate leadership, service, and character in their activities; have never been unexcused to a performance; and have not been late to a performance in the past year.
